1. That was the number 1 team in the country, so hard to expect too
much. They were bigger, stronger & faster at every position.
2. Without a powerful player in the post, this offense will always
look silly against a very good defense. If there is not a realistic
option of passing the ball down into the block (and last night there
wasn't) then our guys will just run a bunch of screen looking to get
an open shot or find a mismatch for a drive. All the coaching in the
world will not help until we get bigger and better in the post. We
might win an upset if we shoot well, but that's it.
3. The offense did look silly, but it was fairly effective at getting
some open shots. Our guys even made some of them until our starting
five got too tired.
4. The #1 problem (of many) was rebounding. Even when our guys had
position, we kept getting out-jumped for the ball. Hard to coach a
guy into growing longer arms.
