Any person that is arrested is checked out for outstanding warrants.
Heck, every person that is even pulled over for speeding is checked
out for outstanding warrants. No one has complained that the check
for outstanding warrants puts an undue burden on the feds.
Why should checking their citizenship via SSN match or some other
method of verifying status be any different? Most of it is
computerized these days anyway...a few clicks and you get a "yes" or a
"no". Obviously, I know it's not quite THAT simple, but you get my
point. If it can be done for warrants or alimony payments or simple
ID background checks, this shouldn't be any different.
