In Arizona, searches for any outstanding warrants for people under
arrest should now be illegal because it would place undue burden on
those who have no outstanding warrants.
It's complete insanity.
Then, to add on top of it, there's this:
"Thus, an increase in the number of requests for determinations of
immigration status, such as is likely to result from the mandatory
requirement that Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies check
the immigration status of any person who is arrested, will
divert resources from the federal government’s other responsibilities
and priorities."
She is basically stating that dealing with violations of federal law
will create too much work for the feds and should be ignored. When
you really start looking at her decision, it becomes more and more
apparent that this judge (and those who helped her come up with this
ruling) has lost her freaking mind.
